Logistics Manager
We are hiring a hands-on Road/Rail Freight Specialist to support European road and rail freight movements for a client based in Amsterdam. This is a commercially focused operations role with real responsibility and the opportunity to help shape and build a growing function.
Working Hours: 09:00-17:30, Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to €55,000, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Optimise European road and rail freight flows
- Support trading and commercial decision-making
- Identify cost efficiencies and optimisation opportunities
- Analyse freight data to improve routing, pricing, and execution
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
- Negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to optimize costs
- Help build and refine processes as the function grows
Must-Have Profile
- Strong experience in European road and/or rail freight
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially minded (understands cost, margin, and trade-offs)
- Proven hands-on execution in a fast-moving environment
- Comfortable working closely with traders or commercial teams
- Individual contributor mindset (not a pure people manager)
- Fluent English (spoken and written) required
