A well-established freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join their busy operations team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of ocean import shipments and develop their career within a supportive environment.

The Ocean Coordinator will manage end-to-end import shipments by sea, ensuring accurate documentation, smooth communication with carriers and clients, and full compliance with customs regulations. You will play a vital role in maintaining service excellence and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full process of ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery

• Prepare and manage import documentation, including customs clearances

• Communicate daily with shipping lines, overseas agents, and customers

• Monitor shipments and provide proactive status updates to clients

• Investigate and resolve any shipment or documentation issues

• Ensure compliance with international trade and customs regulations

• Collaborate with colleagues across operations and customer service teams

About You:

• Previous experience in ocean imports within a freight forwarding or logistics setting

• Knowledge of customs procedures and import documentation

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Proficient in freight systems and Microsoft Office

• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
