Location: Manchester, Wythenshawe
Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
My client is looking for an experienced supervisor/team leader in ocean freight forwarding to lead their team based in Manchester. They are an experienced freight forwarder with over 20 years of experience in the industry, representing customers in 188 countries across 7 UK locations.
Package Benefits:
- Annual Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
- Full time: Monday to Friday – 9:00am-5:30pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of ocean freight operators (import & export).
- Manage and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers – ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers, proactively developing services which fit our customer base development.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify new business and expand our client base.
- Work closely with the sales team on commercial needs.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities, and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding, import and export experience is essential.
- Proven experience in managing/leading a team, with excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Target driven
- Excellent customer service.
- Good verbal and written communication.
