Ocean Import Coordinator
Position: Ocean Import Coordinator
Location: Chelmsford
Hours: Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00 Plus Hybrid!!
Salary: Circa £32,000
The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Import of Less than Container Loads (LCL) and Full Container Loads (FCL) shipments via sea freight. You must have a background in sea freight forwarding operations with a UK forwarder.
Your key responsibilities as Ocean Import Coordinator:
- Complete start-to-finish import consignments via sea freight
- Responsible for the day to day running of allocated LCL & FCL movements
- Global imports
- Create bookings from the origin
- Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
- Track and update shipment statues in the company’s system and provide regular updates to clients
- Complete import customs entries via CDS
- Ensure compliance with import regulations
- Developing good working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and our other branches
- Previous experience in quoting and operations of export ocean freight forwarding is essential
