Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester (Hybrid/Office-Based)
Salary: up to £35,000 + Excellent Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 17:00pm (Flexible with hybrid working)
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holiday

As an Ocean Import Operations Account Manager, you’ll act as the key point of contact for a portfolio of clients – ensuring shipments run smoothly from start to finish while providing an exceptional standard of service. You’ll collaborate closely with the wider operations team, balancing the day-to-day detail with the bigger commercial picture.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Provide exceptional service to all customers, handling queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Invoice and cost files accurately and on time.
- Select and negotiate with carriers/service providers to maximise profitability.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key clients and suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and contribute to business development.
- Ensure all operational procedures and company standards are followed.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in ocean import freight forwarding or a similar logistics role.
- Strong communication and customer service skills – you’ll be the face of the business for your clients.
- A positive, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and confidence managing profit margins.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and build trusted internal relationships.
