Ocean Import Coordinator

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (DOE)

My client is looking for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team based in Birmingham. They are an experienced freight forwarder with over 40 years of experience in the industry, having a turnover of over £230 million since December 2021 and employing 200 members of staff in the UK.

Package Benefits:

• Annual Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (DOE)
• Full time: Monday to Friday – 9:00am-5:30pm (can be flexible)
• Annual pay review in January.

Key Responsibilities:

• Book freight with approved carriers/lines.
• To ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients.
• Take requests and queries and resolve them effectively and efficiently.
• Communicate (using email, telephone and internet systems) with overseas agents and clients clearly, precisely and accurately and resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
• Ensure pre-alert documents are on hand prior to vessel arrival.
• Process supplier invoices.
• Maintain customer and supplier spreadsheets.

Requirements:

• Ocean freight experience.
• Import customs experience.
• Experience working for a freight forwarding company.
• Excellent customer service.
• Good verbal and written communication.
