Position: Ocean Import & Pricing Operator
Location: Southampton
Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
Salary: up to £32,000 (DEO)
We are recruiting for our client, a UK based logistics company that offers Air, Sea, Road and time-critical freight forwarding services worldwide. They seek a dynamic and experienced Ocean Import & Pricing Operator to work out of their Southampton office.
The ideal candidate will have a background in freight forwarding operations, with experience dealing with Ocean freight imports, import regulations and customs clearance procedures, as well as pricing and quotations.
Your key responsibilities as an Ocean Import & Pricing Operator:
- Complete start-to-finish import consignments via sea freight
- Create bookings from the origin
- Negotiate and secure competitive freight rates with carriers and suppliers
- Provide accurate and timely pricing and quotes to clients based on their shipping needs.
- Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, merchant haulage and various carriers
- Track and update shipment statuses in the company’s system and provide regular updates to clients
- Completion of import customs entries
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade compliance laws
- Cargowise experience is desirable
