Operations Manager

Operations Manager – Manufacturing – £65k

An established and growing manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of its production and operational functions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficiency, quality, cost control, and timely delivery across all operations.

You’ll lead a small team, driving operational performance through strong leadership, continuous improvement, and a focus on health, safety, and quality. This role would suit a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in manufacturing operations who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production and planning activities to meet business goals.

• Own operational KPIs and report performance to senior leadership.

• Champion 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across all operations.

• Oversee production scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity planning.

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and EN 9100 standards.

• Collaborate with sales and other departments to align operational capacity with customer demand.

• Manage budgets, control costs, and maintain operational excellence.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to your team to foster engagement and accountability.

About You

• Proven experience managing operations in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and process improvement tools.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Commercially aware, with sound financial and analytical acumen.

• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

• Qualifications or formal training in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.

• Experience in small-to-medium manufacturing environments.

• Familiarity with SAP
