I currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join a local surgery for 30 hours per week, ideally worked across three long days (Monday to Wednesday).

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused nursing care, supporting both the GPs and the wider health care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nurse who thrives in a busy primary care setting and is passionate about patient well being.

Clinical Duties

• Basic wound and ulcer care

• Suture removal

• Venepuncture and urinalysis

• ECGs and peak flow readings

• Blood pressure monitoring

• Routine adult and childhood immunisations

• Running specialist clinics (e.g. Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, INR)

• Requesting basic pathology tests (e.g. urine cultures, swabs)

• Working within clinical protocols, escalating to GPs or senior nurses as needed

Practice Support Duties

• Maintaining and cleaning medical equipment

• Stock rotation and reordering (including vaccines and cold chain management)

• Assisting with housekeeping duties in nurse and treatment rooms

• Chaperoning patients during clinical examinations

• Participating in practice administrative systems and accurate record-keeping

• Attending practice meetings and contributing to team discussions

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Practice Nurse in a GP setting

• Confident in managing routine primary care nursing duties

• Respiratory interest/experience (Asthma/COPD clinics) is highly desirable

• Ability to work autonomously and within a team

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Strong commitment to patient-centred care
