Road Freight Export Solutions Operator Overview

We are recruiting for an Export Solutions Operator to join our clients Road Freight team in Bradford. The Road Export Operator is responsible for managing and coordinating road freight export shipments from booking through to final delivery.

This role ensures shipments are executed efficiently, compliantly, and in line with customer requirements, while maintaining high service standards and strong communication with clients, hauliers, and internal teams.

Road Freight Export Solutions Operator Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage daily export planning, ensuring trailers are utilised to maximum capacity.
• Optimise routes for cost efficiency, service performance, and customs compliance.
• Coordinate collections, deliveries, and international road movements.
• Liaise with hauliers, partners, and internal departments to ensure seamless shipment execution.

• Prepare, verify, and process export documentation including CMRs, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documents.
• Ensure compliance with UK and international customs regulations.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and system updates.
• Support customs processes and ensure correct data submission for export movements.

• Provide proactive updates to customers regarding shipment status.
• Maintain high service standards in line with company and customer KPIs.

• Propose improvements to processes, planning, and cost management.
• Contribute to operational best practice within the road freight team.

Road Freight Export Solutions Operator Requirements

• Strong understanding of export operations, trailer planning, and road freight logistics.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident communicator able to support, guide, and challenge colleagues constructively.
• Experience using transport management systems (e.g., OTMS) is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of logistics, road freight, and warehousing operations.
• Knowledge of customs processes, transport regulations, and freight documentation.
• Experience using systems such as ROCS and OTMS.
