Position: Road Freight Operations Manager

Location: Kent

Salary: Up to £60,000

We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Road Freight Operations Manager to take the reins at our client’s busy depot and spearhead the next phase of their growth.

About the Role:

As Road Freight Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day depot operations while having a clear strategic vision to expand the freight forwarding division. You’ll lead a dedicated team, optimise operational performance, and identify new commercial opportunities to push the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop a small team to deliver high-performance standards.
• Oversee all aspects of domestic and European road freight operations.
• Oversee the management of inbound and outbound pallet storage and distribution
• Drive service excellence, cost control, and operational efficiency.
• Identify and act on growth opportunities within the freight forwarding market.
• Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and company standards.
• Ensure the operation of the depot is running efficiently and profitably
• Report on KPIs, budgets, and strategic progress to senior management.

The ideal candidate:

• Proven experience in road freight operations and logistics.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating teams.
• Commercially minded and ambitious – thrives on growth and development.
• A natural problem solver with excellent organisational abilities.
• Basic understanding of import/export customs procedures.
• Experience in warehouse pallet storage and distribution
