Sales Engineer

Internal Sales / Applications Engineer

The Opportunity

We are partnered with a well-established engineering business in Woore seeking an organised, customer-focused Internal Sales Engineer to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, technical interest, and a desire to progress within an engineering environment. Full product training is provided.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming customer enquiries via phone and email

  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations

  • Select the correct products based on customer requirements

  • Build rapport and maintain strong client relationships

  • Liaise with customers, Area Sales Managers and the management team

  • Monitor and feedback market trends and customer insights

  • Use CRM, accounting and sizing software (training provided)

  • Identify your own training needs to support ongoing career development

  • Support the wider business with any additional duties as required

  • Promote and follow company Health & Safety policies


Person Specification

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Engineering qualification (ONC / HNC / BEng) – desirable

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office – essential

  • Good standard of English and Maths – essential

  • Understanding of pumps, pipework or general engineering principles – desirable

  • Knowledge of the industry – desirable

Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar internal sales, technical support or customer service role – desirable

  • Experience working with pumps or fluid handling equipment – desirable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – essential

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities – essential

  • Team player with strong collaboration skills – essential

  • Confident managing and prioritising your own workload – essential

  • Proven ability to identify or develop new profitable opportunities – essential
