Sales Manager

£40,000 – £50,000 DOE + Commission

WR Engineering are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager on behalf of a well-established steel profiling and processing business with a strong reputation across the UK manufacturing and fabrication sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a background in steel profiling, laser cutting, plasma cutting, flame cutting, waterjet cutting, or metal processing to take ownership of sales activity, develop existing accounts, and drive new business growth.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities across fabrication, engineering, construction, OEM, and manufacturing markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and grow existing customer accounts
• Generate new business opportunities across the UK
• Prepare quotations and follow projects through to order completion
• Build strong relationships with fabricators, OEMs, subcontract manufacturers, and engineering companies
• Work closely with estimating, production, and operations teams
• Monitor market activity and identify growth opportunities
• Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
• Deliver against agreed sales and revenue targets

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Previous sales experience within steel profiling or metal processing (essential)
• Strong understanding of laser cutting, plasma cutting, flame cutting, waterjet cutting, or steel stockholding environments
• Experience managing customer accounts and winning new business
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Self-motivated and target-driven approach
