Position: Sea Freight Import Clerk
Location: Southampton
Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
Salary: up to £27,000 (DEO)
We are recruiting for our client, a renowned Global Logistics company that started over 40 years ago. They seek a dynamic and experienced Sea Freight Import Clerk to work out of their Southampton office.
The ideal candidate will have a background in freight forwarding operations, with experience dealing with sea freight imports, import regulations and customs clearance procedures.
Your key responsibilities as a Sea Freight Import Clerk:
- Complete start-to-finish import consignments via sea freight
- Create bookings from the origin
- Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
- Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, merchant haulage and various carriers
- Track and update shipment statuses in the company’s system and provide regular updates to clients
- Completion of import customs entries
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade compliance laws
- Cargowise experience is essential
