Location: Heathrow Area
Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 (DOE)
Work Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12:00pm – 12:am or 6am-6pm)
We are currently recruiting for a renowned Freight Forwarding company that operate in over 200 Countries Worldwide. Our client is looking for an experienced multi-skilled Customs Operator for a new exciting role.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Customs Operator:
- Create job files, and accurately enter data into customs software to submit entries in a timely manner.
- Customer facing
- Sense check data provided by customers against required sources and advise on potential errors.
- Create Import and Export declarations by using customs software such as CDS.
- Track and monitor declaration status.
- Problem solving
- Liaise with all stakeholders. Dealing with any queries effectively and efficiently. Where necessary provide guidance and support on the latest customs procedures and requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a customs coordinator or equivalent.
- European Import & Export Road Freight clearances
- Previous experience working for a UK based Freight Forwarder or Customs Broker.
- Customs qualification and previous experience working with Destin8, CNS, Pentant, CCS is desirable.
- Knowledge of HMRC compliance and regulation is desirable.
- Must be able to self-manage and excel in methodical thinking
- Experience with perishable goods will be an advantage
