Position: Senior Freight Forwarder
Location: Hedge End, Southampton
Hours Mon – Fri 9am – 17:30pm
Holiday 22days + Banks rising 1 day after each year of employment
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000pa

Due to expansion plans we are now seeking an experienced freight forwarder to join our dynamic, growing team of freight professionals from our offices in Hedge End.

Role Profile
The primary objective of this role is to oversee the day to day of all Freight Forwarding & CFSP activities for International Logistics.

You will have responsibility for freight rate negotiations, Customs compliance, supporting six Freight Forwarding clerks providing excellent customer service to all our clients. Supporting the Freight Forwarding Manager in ensuring monthly invoicing & CFSP activities are completed in a timely manner.

You are required to grow strong relationships with key stakeholders to the business, internal and external.

Key responsibilities;
Support Freight Forwarding Manager in objective setting, development and performance monitoring of freight forwarding team.
Manage freight rates and ensure any updates are provided to our clients in a timely manner.
Make bookings with our shipping agents for Import and Export shipments, liaising between our Clients and agents / freight providers as necessary.
Ensure accuracy of customs entries (E-customs) and maintain post clearance log.
Update shipping files (Net Freight) and raise GRN’s.
Provide Clients with notification of shipment arrivals requesting relevant documentation in advance of the vessel arrival date.
Raise Shipping, Duty & VAT invoices through Net Freight ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner and before month end.
Support the Freight Forwarding Manager in the production of month end processing and reporting for CFSP activities for all clients and HMRC
Keep up to date with latest customs news and notify the wider business and clients of any significant changes.
Any other duties and responsibilities that may be agreed from time to time.
