Senior Ocean & Air Freight Forwarder
Position: Senior Freight Forwarder
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30am – 17:00pm (Flexible working available, Part office part remote)
Holiday: 20 days + 8 BH (Year 1) increasing to 25 days + 8 BH in year 2

Every team member within their business, regardless of their role ,has a basic understanding of all their clients. Due to growth plans we are now seeking an experienced Ocean & air freight specialist to help expand this new area of our business.
Senior Ocean & Air Freight Forwarder Role:
Development and day to day management of Sea and Air services; to effect the relay of information between clients and subcontractors, ensuring accurate and profitable operation of the Sea and Air department.
Senior Ocean & Air Freight Forwarder Responsibilities:
Development of Sea and Air Freight Services
Implementation of a new Ocean and Air department
Providing guidance and support when setting service costings. Monitoring statistics to ensure the service is viable / profitable
Maintain / develop good working relationships with existing and new clients developing the company’s sea and air freight forwarding activity
Quote clients for potential future work, checking compatibility and availability. Providing guidance on services provided.
Negotiate with carriers and customers to secure the booking.
Arrange import and export movements via sea and air freight. Liaise with overseas partners, shipping lines, hauliers and agents to ensure all transportation details are correct and all parties are kept informed throughout transit and ensure they are advised of any delays or changes in schedules
Daily contact with all subcontractors to gather status updates for all loads in transit including ETA’s and update CarLo accordingly ensuring all collections and deliveries are on schedule
Create/ Update Orders and Business Partners on CarLo as required
Process all required paperwork such as bill of lading, air way bill, invoices etc. Upload all instructions, documents and emails to the relevant order
