Job Title: Transport Coordinator
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Hours: M-F, 09:00 – 18:30

We seek an experienced and organised Transport Coordinator to support the smooth and efficient operation of a busy depot, moving freight across a well-built network. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating driver activity, managing transport resources, and ensuring full compliance with industry regulations. This role plays a key part in quoting and managing bookings via the Courier Exchange platform, helping to maximise revenue and ensure customer satisfaction.

Candidates must have a background in courier or same-day delivery services, along with experience using the Courier Exchange platform. Knowledge of import/export procedures related to airfreight is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan driver schedules and routes to ensure maximum efficiency and resource use.

• Monitor and enforce compliance with working time regulations and vehicle safety requirements.

• Conduct daily driver debriefs to maintain high service standards.

• Identify opportunities for service improvement and report them to management.

• Maintain accurate and accessible transport records.

• Manage and respond to the Sameday requests, providing national quotes.

• Process urgent transport requests using the Courier Exchange platform

• Monitoring costs.

• Communicate booking details to relevant depots and ensure follow-through.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a transport, courier environment.

• Background in courier or same-day delivery services is essential.

• Experience with the Courier Exchange platform.

• Solid understanding of vehicle capacity, route planning, and courier requirements.

• Familiarity with airfreight import/export processes.

• In-depth knowledge of courier requirements.

• Knowledge of Aviation Security.

• Confident in making decisions independently and supporting team objectives.

• Reliable, professional, and punctual with a proactive attitude.
