Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Benefits

Our client, a well-established transport and logistics business, is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead their General Haulage and Pallet Network operations in Bolton. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance, and ensuring continued business growth.

The Role

The transport manager will be responsible for the overall management of the transport division, overseeing fleet operations, service levels, and cost control. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded leader with a strong background in haulage and pallet distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficiency and profitability
• Manage and develop a high-performing team, driving operational excellence
• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, including O-Licence requirements
• Maintain and enhance relationships with customers and key stakeholders
• Monitor and improve fleet performance, service levels, and KPIs
• Drive business growth through effective financial and operational management

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a General Manager, Transport Manager, or senior logistics role
• Strong understanding of General Haulage and Pallet Network operations
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification preferred
• Experience in budget management, cost control, and commercial growth
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• A strong grasp of transport compliance and industry regulations
