Position: Transport Manager
Location: Manchester
Salary: £45,000 DEO
We seek an experienced Transport Manager to join our client’s team in Manchester to improve their operation. You will need to have extensive experience with multidrop distribution.
Your key responsibilities as a Transport Manager:
- Driver management, hiring, training and compliance
- To manage all transport operations, including planning teams, drivers, and fleet management
- Proven knowledge of geographical routes and driver regulations in the UK
- Compliance regulations
- SLA’s & KPI monitoring
- Maintaining company policies and procedures
- Fleet maintenance, vehicle inspection and compliance
- Record keeping for licences, CPC’s and training
- Cost containment, reducing costs, and optimising fuel consumption
- Ensure H&S conditions are maintained
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven experience in transport and haulage management
- Up-to-date CPC in road haulage
- Knowledge of multi-drop distribution and planning is essential
- Understanding of O Licence obligations
- The ability to exercise good leadership and people management skills
- ‘Hands on’ approach
- Previous HGV licence is an advantage
- 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
