I’m currently recruiting for a Transport Manager on behalf of a well-established global logistics company with a strong UK presence and genuine long-term career opportunities.

This role is based in Halesowen and would suit an experienced transport professional who wants stability and the chance to grow with a business that is actively investing in its operation.

The Opportunity

You’ll take responsibility for a general haulage and groupage operation, currently running 12 vehicles, with clear and funded plans to scale the fleet to 30 vehicles. The business is well supported by a global parent company, offering structure, resources, and best practice – without losing the feel of a close-knit local operation.

You will have 3 direct reports (2 Planners and 1 Administrator) and full ownership of day-to-day transport performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the transport operation and fleet

• Ensuring compliance with O-Licence, DVSA, and transport legislation

• Leading and developing the planning and admin team

• Oversight of routing, utilisation, and cost efficiency

• Vehicle maintenance, defects, and external supplier management

• Supporting fleet expansion and operational growth

• Driving standards, KPIs, and service performance

What They’re Looking For

• CPC qualification – essential

• Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport role

• Background in general haulage and groupage

• Strong people management and leadership skills

• A hands-on, solutions-focused approach

• Someone motivated by growth and progression
