Transport Planning Manager
Transport Planning Manager required for a leading UK Transport company.
As a Transport Planning Manager you will have sound geographical knowledge and experience planning and dealing with Transport UK Wide. Or have been involved in the Transport Industry.
Training is provided!
Sound geographical knowledge and experience of routing vehicles is essential.
General Haulage experience ESSENTIAL
60 drivers and 10 office staff. 4 Planners 1 Planning Manager
Salary Range
£33,000 – £42,000
9am -5pm
20 days + Bank holiday
Hours of work consists of a rotating shift pattern:
Transport Planner works on rotating shifts
Negotiating contracts to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency.
Providing accurate routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.
Accurately calculating supply costs in relation to each movement or transaction.
Obtaining quotes for transportation and also making cost comparisons.
Establish relationships with clients in pursuit of sustainable business relationships
Ensuring compliance with all current legislation and regulation
The Role:
Transport Planner is required to join a growing team.
Transport Planner is required to route company vehicles cost effectively
You will be liaising with customers and drivers on a daily basis
Transport Planner must plan work in line with all road transport legislation & WTD
Vehicles and Trailers must be well maintained and service schedules met
You will be planning 10-15 Lorries .
Briefing and de-briefing drivers.
