Position: UK & European Traffic Manager

Location: Pontefract

Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 17:30

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a client of ours who was established over 45 years ago and is still proudly a family-owned company that specialises in road freight services in the UK and across Europe.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Traffic Manager to join their expanding team. As a UK & European Traffic Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organisation and execution of all the traffic-related activities, ensuring the efficient running of the supply chain.

Your key responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate UK & European road freight operations
• Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimise delivery schedules
• Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays promptly
• Lead a team of freight forwarders, traffic planners, drivers and sub-contractors
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Track and update delivery statuses in the company’s system and provide regular updates to clients
• Making sure the department stays up to date with regulations, ensuring compliance with all documentation
• Continuously monitoring the team’s performance, offering training and making adjustments accordingly

Requirements:

• Proven experience in UK & European road freight general haulage sector
• CPC Holder
• Strong managerial experience in general operations, traffic planners, operators, drivers and sub-contractors
• Knowledge of hazardous cargo operations
• A strong understanding of transportation and operation regulations in UK & Europe
• A full understanding of DVLA compliance
• The ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and working to tight deadlines
