Warehouse Manager Overview

Our client is part of ongoing expansion and is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee and enhance their warehouse operations. This senior leadership role presents a genuine opportunity to make a significant impact by shaping operational procedures, driving efficiencies, and developing a strong, capable team to support their growing international business activities.

You will have overall accountability for the daily management of the warehouse and logistics operation. This includes maintaining accurate stock control, ensuring timely order fulfilment, keeping facilities and equipment in excellent condition, and upholding the highest standards of health and safety.

Working collaboratively with multiple departments, you will champion continuous improvement initiatives and help streamline operational performance across the business.

Warehouse Manager Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all warehouse activities, including goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
• Maintain exceptional stock accuracy through effective inventory control and routine stock checks
• Review and enhance warehouse layout, processes, and workflows to maximise productivity and reduce operational costs
• Manage warehouse equipment such as forklifts, racking systems, scanners, and pallet trucks, ensuring all inspections, maintenance, and compliance requirements are met
• Take ownership of warehouse facilities management, liaising with landlords and external contractors as needed
• Lead and develop a team of warehouse operatives to drive performance and engagement
• Organise staffing schedules and rotas in line with business demand
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, conducting risk assessments where required
• Coordinate statutory inspections, including racking safety checks, lifting equipment certification, and fire safety compliance
• Produce and analyse KPIs relating to stock accuracy, productivity, order completion rates, and equipment downtime

Warehouse Manager Requirements

• Experience in a warehouse management position
• In-depth understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and facilities oversight
• Strong leadership capability with experience motivating and developing teams
• Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
• Experience managing equipment maintenance schedules and compliance documentation

• Background in cross-docking operations
• Familiarity with customs processes and international shipping documentation
• Valid forklift licence or MHE certification
• Experience coordinating contractors and managing building maintenance
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems
