Waste Technical Assessor – West Midlands | £30,000-£35,000

Our client, a forward-thinking environmental services business, is seeking a proactive and skilled professional to join their team in the West Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary based on experience.

In this varied and dynamic role, you will provide technical expertise to ensure materials are managed safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively. You’ll work across multiple business streams, helping to embed a culture of safety and excellence while delivering solutions that meet commercial and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion and support a generative safety culture across the business

• Assess and assign efficient processing or treatment routes for various materials

• Provide technical evaluation to ensure compliance with permits, legislation, and internal standards

• Scope and assess materials for safe transportation, both internally and externally

• Offer guidance and advice to sites and external clients on technical and operational matters

• Support the development of safe working practices (RAMS) for industrial activities

• Prepare reports and documentation as required, ensuring compliance and clarity

About You

• HNC in Chemistry or a related field

• Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor qualification

• IOSH qualification

• Knowledge of the waste or environmental services industry is advantageous

• Strong analytical and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
