Pricing Coordinator – Solihull – Up to £35k

A Freight Forwarder are actively seeking an Pricing Coordinator to join their expanding team based in Birmingham. This exciting opportunity offers the successful applicant a chance to join a company that has an established UK presence in freight forwarding and to join a team that truly looks after their people.

Founded over 40 years ago, my client has developed from a small office of less than five to having two large offices based in different regions with 200 proud members of staff and counting. Specialising in Sea and Air freight, with an annual turnover of over £200m, maintaining strong client relationships with many blue-chip companies across the world, within varying industries, providing an outstanding class of customer service. My client really cares about their staff, they bolstered the wages of their people because of the cost of living crisis, whilst also providing annual pay reviews for all staff, and next year will offer a one-off payment to all. They regularly have engagement surveys too as they want to ensure their people are happy at work.

* £30K- £35K Depending on Experience
* 20 days increasing to 25 holiday plus bank holidays.

Ocean Freight Operator Responsibilities
* Receive customer quotations via varying methods – email / online portal etc
* To cover all modes of transport – Air / Sea – Imports / Exports / Cross Trade
* Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers and confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists, to maximise cost-effectiveness.
* Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed time frame
* Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities.
* Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to all automotive customers
* To produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant
* Engagement with airfreight / sea freight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments

Requirements
* Strong Air Freight knowledge including pricing, processes and operations.
* Excellent communication skills
* Very detail oriented & strong analytical skills
* Proactive, strong organisational skills
