Transport Manager

Transport Manager – Up to £37,000 – Fareham, UK

Our client, who are a local Logistics company are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join their team in Fareham, UK.

The Transport Manager is required to plan and supervise collections, schedule routes, track orders and coordinate with Planners and Drivers.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 | Monday to Friday

• Salary Up to £37,000

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring legislative compliance in all areas, including all aspects of Health and safety and all certification/legislative undertakings are essential elements of the role.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, both internal and external, to ensure effective operation and quality service.
• Evaluate the daily performance of operational functions to ensure they are of the highest standard and capable of future development.
• Select, train, motivate, appraise to develop and manage personnel to achieve total customer focus which shall lead to increased customer retention of divisional growth.
• Managing drivers/units and a fleet of trailers
• Ensuring drivers are compliant with driving hours
• Regulations are being met along with maintaining service and mot schedules
• Groupage collections within the company
• Managing and controlling all deliveries to customers in the UK

Skills and Requirements:

• International Transport Managers CPC is desirable but not essential
• Strong interpersonal skills with good leadership ability
• Conversant in IT skills
• Competent in and experienced in incident investigations
• Previous experience managing and developing a team within a transport environment
• Expert understanding of relevant driver legislation
• Relevant Logistics / Supply Chain qualification or equivalent experience
