Customer Service Agent – Road Freight
Customs Service Agent | Road Freight – Purfleet – Up to £25,000
This freight forwarder are looking for a Customer Service Agent to join one of their export planning departments.
Salary: Up to £25,000 plus yearly bonus
Hours: 09.00 – 17.00 hrs – Monday to Friday

Main purpose of Job:
The main part of the job is to plan groupage, part loads and full load consignments from the UK to Europe. This includes sourcing haulage and negotiating prices, cooperating with other offices, abroad and colleagues within the UK, all whilst identifying and utilizing opportunities to increase both profitability and turnover. The right candidate must, above all, possess a “can do” attitude.
Key Tasks:
- Working within CEN export (Italy, Austria and Switzerland) planning department
- Organising full load, part load and groupage transport
- Finding the best solutions for cargo combinations. Utilising the Fleet and one way market
- Operating within the company’s pricing framework, using their Tariff(s) where needed and also providing customers with SPOT quotes when requested
- Negotiating haulage prices on the market
- Ensuring that customers shipments are loaded on time & meet the requested delivery date
- Providing a high level service for all shipments handled
- Informing CSU (or customer directly) regarding any changes or delays to shipments.
- Creating load orders to Hauliers
- Creating instructions regarding T1 creation
- Other operational administrational tasks
Requirements:
- Experience in dealing with EU Road Freight (Essential)
- Experience within logistics (Essential)
