Senior Transport Manager
Transport Manager – Ellesmere Port- Up to £55,000
Our client, who are a known logistics company are looking for an individual to join their team as Transport Manager where they will be operating out of their depot based in Ellesmere Port
The role entails a direct responsibility for the day-to-day management and supervision of their planners and driver workforce at their Ellesmere Port location
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
Type: Full time
Shift: Monday – Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and promote a safe working environment
- Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resources available at site and keep the customer updated
- Coordinate with Transport Planning and Fleet team to ensure smooth running of Operations
- Monitor and report on transportation costs
- Ensure shipping documents are properly filed
- Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
- Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
- Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
- Organize training sessions for employees
- Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
- Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
- Stay up to date with safety regulations
Skills and Requirements:
- Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a transport environment
- Expert understanding of relevant driver legislation
- Relevant Logistics / Supply Chain qualification or equivalent experience
- International Transport Managers CPC is essential
- Must have experience with tankers
- Strong interpersonal skills with good leadership ability
- Conversant in IT skills
- Competent in and experienced in incident investigations
