Air Freight Exporter – Life Sciences & Healthcare

Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Salary: CHF 73,000-80,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established global logistics and supply chain organisation for an experienced Air Freight Export Operator to join their growing team in Bern.

The Role

As an Air Freight Export Operator, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient handling of export air freight shipments from start to finish, alongside cross-trade movements and specialist healthcare transports.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the operational processing of Air Freight Export shipments
• Coordinating cross-trade shipments and international movements
• Handling specialist Life Sciences and Healthcare consignments
• Communicating daily with customers, overseas agents, airlines and suppliers
• Preparing quotations and negotiating rates with airlines
• Following up with customers to ensure excellent service
• Supporting the Export Manager across various operational activities
• Ensuring shipments are handled accurately and in line with required processes and quality standards
• Completing general administrative and operational duties
• Maintaining a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle

About You

We are looking for an experienced Air Freight professional who can demonstrate:

• Completed commercial training/apprenticeship within freight forwarding, ideally specialising in Air Freight
• Several years’ experience in Air Freight Export operations
• Previous exposure to Life Sciences and Healthcare logistics
• Understanding of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) principles
• Excellent German language skills
• Good written and spoken English
• Additional languages would be advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• A proactive, enthusiastic and team-oriented approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A precise and process-driven approach to your work
• Good IT skills, including MS Office
