Business Development Manager – Air & Ocean Freight

Location: Charlotte, NC
Salary: $105,000 base + uncapped commission

A leading global logistics and freight forwarding organization is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across its Air & Ocean division. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven hunter with experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or supply chain solutions who enjoys building relationships and winning new business.

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying and securing new customers, developing strategic sales plans, and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract negotiation and close. Working closely with operations and customer service teams, you will ensure solutions are delivered to the highest standards while achieving and exceeding revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business through prospecting, networking, and cold outreach.
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline.
• Develop tailored logistics solutions for prospective clients.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
• Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of B2B sales experience within freight forwarding sales
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience selling Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage
