Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding
Location: Hamburg, Germany
Salary: €70,000 + Package
We are supporting the search for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading international logistics organisation operating across global supply chain markets.
This is a high-impact, hunter-focused sales role responsible for driving new business acquisition, developing strategic customer relationships, and generating significant revenue across air, ocean, and integrated logistics solutions.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of a defined territory within the EMEIA region, focusing on identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities.
Working closely with pricing, operations, and product specialists, you will design and deliver tailored logistics solutions that meet complex customer requirements while ensuring strong commercial outcomes.
This role offers strong autonomy, clear targets, and the opportunity to directly influence regional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and exceed new business revenue targets on a quarterly and annual basis
- Build and maintain a high-quality, sustainable sales pipeline
- Develop structured territory growth and market penetration strategies
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across target sectors
- Engage and influence senior and executive-level decision-makers
- Lead commercial presentations, solution design discussions, and negotiations
- Drive RFQ/RFP processes for strategic and high-value accounts
- Collaborate with pricing and operational teams to develop competitive and profitable solutions
- Maintain accurate CRM reporting, forecasting, and pipeline discipline
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities
- Strengthen market presence across assigned regions and industry verticals
- Act as a regional representative for the business in key customer engagements
Candidate Profile
- 5-7+ years of successful business development experience within freight forwarding or logistics
- Proven track record of winning new business and exceeding revenue targets
- Strong experience across air freight, ocean freight, and integrated logistics solutions
- Confident negotiator with strong commercial and financial acumen
- Strong presentation skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate effectively in a multinational, matrix organisation
- Highly driven, resilient, and target-oriented mindset
- Strong CRM discipline and structured sales approach
