CHP Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer

Location: North-East England (Ideally Teesside, Humberside or Newcastle)
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
Benefits: Company Vehicle + Door-to-Door Pay + Overtime + 1/4 on call rota

Are you a Service Engineer with experience in CHP, gas engines and controls looking for a new opportunity with a specialist power-generation business?

Our client is a well-established engineering company specialising in the service, maintenance, repair and overhaul of CHP and gas-engine systems across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join their field-based team.

The Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing CHP and gas-engine systems at customer sites.

The role will involve:

• Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of CHP/gas engines
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and control-system faults
• PLC and control-system fault finding
• Commissioning and testing equipment
• Engine overhauls and component replacement
• Responding to breakdowns and providing technical support
• Working with customers to identify and resolve technical issues
• Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
• Travelling to customer sites across the UK

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a background in CHP, gas engines, power generation or industrial equipment, ideally with strong controls experience.

You could be a good fit if you have experience with:

• CHP / Combined Heat & Power systems
• Gas engines – Jenbacher, MWM, MAN, Guascor, CAT, MTU, Perkins, 2G or similar
• PLCs and control systems
• Electrical fault finding
• Commissioning and servicing
• Engine rebuilds / overhauls
• Industrial instrumentation and control systems
