Role: CNC Service Technician
Location: Birmingham / Field Based
Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 depending on experience + overtime
My client is looking for a CNC Service Technician to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong knowledge of Mazak CNC machinery to work with a respected company supporting customers across a wide range of manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of CNC machine tools
- Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Preventative maintenance and breakdown response at customer sites
- Diagnostics and support on Mazak CNC controls and machinery
- Machine geometry checks, alignments, and performance optimisation
- Providing technical support and training to customers where required
- Completing accurate service reports and documentation
- Maintaining excellent customer relationships and representing the business professionally
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a CNC Service Engineer or CNC Maintenance Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with Mazak CNC machines
- Knowledge of Mazatrol / Mazak control systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings and mechanical schematics
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage field service schedules
- Experience with multi-axis machining centres or turning centres
- PLC fault finding knowledge
- Customer-facing service experience
