Electrical Design Engineer

An established specialist engineering manufacturer delivering bespoke HVAC and engineered systems for industrial applications is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join its project engineering team. The role will take responsibility for the electrical design element of multi-discipline projects, progressing control systems from initial operational philosophy through detailed design and manufacture.

Responsibilities will include producing electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, specifying components, creating BOMs, preparing production and project documentation, reviewing certification and supporting projects through manufacture and close-out. There will also be regular liaison with mechanical design, manufacturing, suppliers and customers, with occasional project-related travel.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience designing electrical control systems for industrial applications
Ideally experience within bespoke HVAC, ventilation, air handling or other engineered mechanical systems
Strong electrical design capability, including control panels, schematics, component selection and production drawings
Experience using AutoCAD or similar electrical design software
Able to interpret customer specifications and design in accordance with relevant UK / international standards
Experience producing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical / manufacturing documentation
Relevant electrical engineering qualification, ideally Level 3 / Level 4 or equivalent
PLC software design / programming experience advantageous but not essential
Exposure to Ex / hazardous-area project documentation would be beneficial

Package
£40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
Company pension
25 days holiday + bank holidays
Office-based in Hull
Occasional travel to customer sites across the UK
Some offshore and international travel may be required depending on project requirements
