Industry – Freight Forwarding
Salary: £30,000
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Our client is a well established global freight forwarding group, leading the way in international freight movement via, ocean air and road. Due to continued growth plans for 2023 and beyond they are now seeking an experienced Road Freight Import professional to join their team of dedicated European Road Freight department at their offices in Stoke-on-Trent.
This is a full term permanent position and a salary of £30,000 is achievable for the right candidate. There is also an option to work part remotely for the successful individual.

European Import Operator Role & Responsibilities:
Providing a valuable service in our operations department, to organise the safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Develop key service relationships with customers for an effective and efficient service
- Develop effective relationships with overseas agents and suppliers
- Ability to plan a European Groupage Trailer
- Responsible for the Profit/Loss on the service
- Ensure the delivery and or collection of goods across Europe
- Book appropriate transport to meet requirements of goods to be transported
- Quoting customers on a daily basis
- Provide complete manifests or delivery notes for use by transport and warehouse staff as required
- Comply with EU and UK regulations and requirements regarding export / import documentation
- Ensure that geographic knowledge is updated frequently to enable efficient and effective use of transport
- Provide assistance and cover in other areas of the operation team as required
- Attend regular reviews of performance and annual appraisal meeting with manager
Requirements:
- Some experience working in freight operations
- Ability to work to a deadline essential.
- Ability to consolidate cargo in the UK, with a good understanding on how to maximise their trailer payloads.
- Experience planning loads and with using weights/cubes.
