Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding
Location: Düsseldorf, Germany

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established international logistics organisation operating within the contract logistics and freight solutions sector in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and manage tender and RFQ processes across multiple transport modes
• Contribute to the implementation and optimisation of transport management systems
• Support senior freight management leadership as required
• Assist in the development and ongoing compliance of SOPs, SLAs, and KPIs
• Support strategic procurement of transport services including parcel, groupage, LTL, FTL, and other freight solutions
• Prepare, analyse, and support negotiation of commercial proposals
• Analyse transport and cost data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Drive process optimisation and operational efficiency initiatives
• Act as a key contact for freight management topics across internal stakeholders
• Support operational transport activities where required
• Contribute to continuous improvement and transformation projects
• Participate in internal and external operational and commercial discussions
• Support invoice control, cost monitoring, and performance tracking activities

Candidate Profile

• Background in freight forwarding, logistics, transport management, or supply chain operations
• Experience in a similar freight, procurement, or logistics-focused role
• Strong commercial awareness with an analytical mindset
• Confident user of MS Office applications
• Experience with transport management systems or logistics platforms advantageous
• Fluent in German and English
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-driven approach
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong interest in logistics markets, optimisation, and continuous improvement
• Willingness to travel when required
