The Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly established global freight forwarding organisation with a strong European footprint and a rapidly expanding commercial presence in Hamburg.
As part of continued growth across international markets, the business is now seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition across air, ocean, and multimodal freight solutions.
This is a true hunter role within a high-calibre commercial team. Ideal for someone who thrives on winning new business, opening doors, and building long-term customer relationships within the freight forwarding sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and win new freight forwarding business across Germany and wider Europe
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Sell air, ocean, and road freight solutions to new customers
- Develop tailored logistics solutions in collaboration with operational teams
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements
- Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline using CRM systems
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
- Represent the business at client meetings, trade events, and networking opportunities
Required Experience
- Proven experience in freight forwarding sales / logistics business development
- Strong track record of winning new business (hunter mentality essential)
- Knowledge of international freight (air/ocean/road)
- Confident in consultative and solution-based selling
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Comfortable working independently in a target-driven environment
- Fluent German and/or English
