Freight Forwarder – Bristol – Up to £28,000

Our client is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Coordinator to join their growing team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight forwarding professional to become part of a dynamic logistics business and make an immediate impact within a busy operational environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating multi-modal freight movements, managing customer relationships, and ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from booking through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate road, air, and sea freight shipments.
• Book freight with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and other transport providers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by tracking shipments and providing regular updates to clients.
• Handle import and export customs clearance processes where required.
• Create and manage transport orders, negotiate rates, and process invoices.
• Monitor and maximise profit margins across customer accounts and shipments.
• Ensure all operational activities are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within a UK freight forwarding operation.
• Strong understanding of transport, freight forwarding, and global logistics processes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Experience within multimodal freight forwarding operations.
• Knowledge of customs clearance procedures for imports and exports.
