Import Freight Coordinator
Import Coordinator – Barking – Up to £34,000
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Freight Operations Coordinator to manage inbound shipments across ocean and air freight. This is a full-time, office-based position in Barking, focused on freight operations and shipment management. Please note, this role does not include customs clearance responsibilities.

Hours: Monday to Friday – 08:30 – 17:30
Salary: Up to £34,000
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import shipments (FCL, LCL and air freight) from pre-alert through to final delivery
- Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, hauliers and warehouse teams
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve delays or issues proactively
- Coordinate deliveries to ensure efficient final mile execution
- Track and manage operational costs, including freight, handling and ancillary charges
- Provide clear and timely updates to customers
- Follow internal standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency
Requirements
- Experience in freight forwarding for a UK based freight forwarder
- Experience in FCL/LCL required
- Experience in Ocean freight required
- Expeirence in Air freight desired
- Strong understanding of ocean and/or air freight processes
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communication skills with a proactive approach
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
