Location: Salford, Manchester
Salary: Up to £35,000
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Ocean Export Coordinator to join our client, a well-established freight forwarding business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in ocean freight exports who is looking to join a busy, fast-paced operation with the potential to secure a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating ocean export shipments from start to finish, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing ocean export shipments from booking through to final destination.
- Liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers.
- Preparing and processing export documentation, including bills of lading.
- Arranging collections, transport and shipping bookings.
- Completing customs entries and ensuring all relevant documentation is accurate.
- Monitoring shipment progress and providing customers with regular updates.
- Handling customer queries and resolving any operational issues.
- Ensuring all shipments comply with relevant international shipping regulations.
- Maintaining accurate shipment records and updating internal systems.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within an ocean export or freight forwarding role based in the UK.
- Good understanding of ocean freight export procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge of shipping lines, overseas agents and transport arrangements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.
- Comfortable working in a busy operational environment.
- Experience using freight forwarding systems would be advantageous.
