About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Ocean Freight Manager to join an award winning freight forwarding group in Ipswich. In this key role, you will manage and grow key client accounts while leading a dedicated team of professionals. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the entire ocean freight process, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and driving continuous improvements to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their ocean freight needs are met with the highest level of service.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth coordination of shipments from origin to destination, resolving any challenges that arise.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and optimize freight operations to drive efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
• Reporting & Analysis: Monitor KPIs and provide regular reports to senior management, offering insights for strategic decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in ocean freight forwarding, with a solid understanding of both import and export processes, including customs procedures.
• Proven track record of managing key accounts and building long-lasting client relationships.
• Previous experience in team leadership or management.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the latest industry trends and best practices.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
