Location: Southampton, UK
Salary: Circa £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ocean Freight Operator to join a growing and dynamic specialist freight business based in the Southampton area.

The successful candidate will provide export freight solutions to global destinations, including complex and non-standard routes, working closely with major 3PL vessel operators to move primarily OOG cargo. Alongside operational responsibility.

Working Hours:
Full time – Monday to Friday, with WFH 1 day per week, following probation

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage Sea Freight operations, utilising 3PL vessels and major shipping lines

• Handle freight movements to global destinations, including specialist and unusual routes

• Support Air and Road shipments when required, offering a fully multimodal service

• Deliver high levels of customer service while building and maintaining strong commercial relationships

• Manage bookings, documentation, quotations and operational queries efficiently and accurately

• Liaise confidently with carriers, agents and clients to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations

Requirements

• Experience with OOG, Project cargo and Breakbulk would be a big advantage

• 3 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding (Sea Freight background preferred; NVOCC experience beneficial)

• Experience working with or booking onto major shipping lines is desirable

• Experience with Cargowise highly deseriable

• Ability to handle multimodal enquiries (Sea, plus some Air and Road desirable)
