Ocean Freight Supervisor – Southampton – Up to £43,000
An established freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Supervisor to join its team.
The role will involve overseeing day-to-day Ocean freight operations, supporting and developing the team, managing customer requirements and driving operational improvements.
Location: Southampton, UK
Salary: Up to £43,000
Employment Type: Full-time
Hours: 0900-1730 – Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Manage workloads and ensure customer procedures are followed.
- Support quotations and new business transitions.
- Build strong relationships with customers, shipping lines and suppliers.
- Monitor operational performance and identify process improvements.
- Support team development, training and performance.
- Assist with compliance and departmental targets.
About You
- Strong ocean freight experience within freight forwarding for a UK based freight forwarder.
- Previous supervisory or senior-level experience.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience coaching and developing team members.
- Good knowledge of freight forwarding operations and systems.
