Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
Salary: £35,000 + Bonus + Profit Share
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | Hybrid working – 1 day from home

Are you an experienced European Road Freight professional who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish while building strong relationships with customers?

We’re working with an award-winning, employee-owned freight group based in Wythenshawe, Manchester, who are looking to strengthen their team with a European Road Freight Operations Account Manager.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, managing European road freight movements while ensuring shipments run smoothly, efficiently and in line with customer expectations.

The position combines hands-on road freight operations with customer account management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys the operational side of forwarding but also takes pride in developing long-term customer relationships.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing European road freight shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
• Coordinating import and export movements across European road networks.
• Liaising with hauliers, transport partners, customers and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Providing regular shipment updates and maintaining excellent customer communication.
• Handling customer enquiries, resolving operational issues and managing exceptions.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customer accounts.
• Monitoring service levels and ensuring customer requirements are consistently met.
• Obtaining rates, negotiating with transport providers and helping maintain competitive pricing.
• Ensuring accurate shipment documentation and system updates.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and strengthen customer relationships.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within European road freight operations or road freight account management.
• A good understanding of European road freight import and export procedures.
• Experience coordinating shipments and liaising with hauliers and customers.
