Technical Pricing Specialist – Hazardous Waste

Location: Crewe, UK

Salary: circa £40,000 (DOE)

My client, a well-established and accredited waste management company, is seeking a Technical Pricing Specialist to join their team in Crewe. This is a key commercial role focused on the accurate pricing and invoicing of hazardous waste consignments, ensuring compliance, profitability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical waste knowledge alongside commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Price hazardous waste consignments accurately, considering legislation, disposal routes, and operational costs
• Manage and validate invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with commercial agreements
• Review waste data (profiles, analysis, documentation) to support correct classification, costing, and disposal methods
• Collaborate with technical, operations, and logistics teams to ensure efficient and compliant service delivery
• Support procurement activities, including supplier engagement and cost optimisation, while resolving invoicing queries

Requirements:

• Proven experience in the UK waste management industry, with strong hazardous waste knowledge
• Background in pricing, invoicing, or commercial roles within environmental or waste services
• Solid understanding of hazardous waste regulations (e.g., EWC/LoW, ADR, Duty of Care)
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers
