Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager – Dublin – Up to 65,000 Euros

An established international freight forwarding and logistics provider is seeking an experienced Sales Executive to drive growth across Ocean and Air Freight services. This role is focused on developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and delivering tailored freight solutions to clients across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding sales, a proven ability to win new business, and a solid understanding of both import and export operations across air and ocean freight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across Ireland, with a focus on Ocean and Air Freight services.
  • Generate and manage a pipeline of prospective customers through networking, lead generation, cold calling, and industry engagement.
  • Build strong long-term relationships with customers across sectors including retail, manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and technology.
  • Conduct client meetings to understand supply chain requirements and present tailored freight solutions.
  • Prepare competitive quotations and commercial proposals in line with company pricing strategy.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with customers.
  • Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding shipment updates, service improvements, and new opportunities.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPI objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities, and forecasts within the CRM system.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments within the freight forwarding sector.
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities where required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in freight forwarding sales within Ocean and/or Air Freight.
  • Strong understanding of international freight forwarding, import/export procedures, and supply chain solutions.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business.
  • Existing network of customers and industry contacts within Ireland would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Commercially driven with strong relationship management ability.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing a busy sales pipeline.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving licence preferred.
