Business Development Manager/Freight Account Manager

Location: Dartford

Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE) + Profit based Bonus Scheme

My client is looking for a results driven, experienced Business Development Manager/Freight Account Manager to join their team in their Dartford Office. The right candidate will be an experienced sales-person who has worked previously for a UK based Freight Forwarder, having a background in Air, Road and/or Sea Freight Operations.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 9:00am-5:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop and maintain effective business relationships with new and existing clients, offering excellent customer service.
• To generate and follow up sales leads, liaising with new and existing customers to obtain new business at reasonable profit.
• Provide accurate information to internal operations staff in order that all relevant administration can be completed efficiently.
• Work with Line Managers to promote specific markets and generate business, through a programme of targeted calls.
• Be up-to-date on current developments in the market and information on competitors.

Requirements:

• Freight Forwarding Sales/Business Development Manager/Freight Account Manager Experience.
• Import and/or Export Air, Road and/or Sea Freight experience.
• Experience working for a freight forwarding company.
• Leadership experience desirable.
• Ability to bring business would be advantageous.
