Maintenance Technician / Site Engineer

Maintenance Technician – up to £40k

A rare opening for an experienced Maintenance Technician/ Site Maintenance Engineer/ Facilities Manager to manage the site maintenance and facilities of a leading Aerospace manufacturer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of functions across whole site including Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic equipment repair, overhaul and planned maintenance to ensure smooth running of facility.

The Role:

  • Develop a Strategic Asset Management Plan
  • Engaging with internal and external customers and regulators, intervening as appropriate to resolve facilities and EHS concerns
  • Accurately report on Departmental forecasts, results, capital and operating expenditures.
  • Facilities maintenance, breakdowns and improvements
  • Active management of team. To include performance management reviews and team briefings
  • Manage vendors/ contractors inc. terms and agreements on service contracts
  • Manage any external service contracts to ensure site facilities operate safely and cost effectively.
  • Support contract management activities and implementations: Security, CDM Cleaning, Pest Control, Fire and Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Landscaping, Waste/Refuse Collection/Recycling and all major Utilities.
  • Review and approve Standard Operating Procedures, Maintenance Procedures, Vendor approvals and KPI’s on a regular basis.
  • Communicate on operational and strategic issues
  • Promote continuous improvement
  • Actively leading safety and regulatory compliance
  • Plant Equipment Maintenance methodologies and practices
  • Hydraulic Systems maintenance / Installation
  • Electrical work, Installation of and maintenance – Trained to 18th Edition standard.
  • Emergency call out and attendance to site will occasionally be required. Possibly on a call out rota basis

Skills:

  • Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment including
  • Managing and leading to address complex challenges across a diverse set of Facilities, automated plant equipment and utilities.
  • Competent in the application of process improvement methodologies and tools (I.e. Lean, 5S+)
  • Prioritisation of projects and deployment of resources required to execute successfully on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of Environmental and EHS controls
  • Auditing and Layer Process Auditing experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Manufacturing/Operations
  • Minimum 1-2 years Electrical Mechanical Maintenance experience
