Our client, a well-established global freight forwarding and logistics provider, is looking to appoint an experienced Ocean Export Freight Forwarder to join their successful Rotterdam operation. The Role

As an Ocean Export Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for managing export shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring every movement is handled efficiently, accurately and in full compliance with international shipping regulations.

Working closely with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, customs authorities and internal departments, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service while maintaining complete control of your own shipment files.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Ocean Export shipments from start to finish (A-Z).
• Coordinate bookings with shipping lines, carriers and overseas agents.
• Liaise with customers to provide shipment updates and proactive communication.
• Prepare and process all export documentation.
• Arrange customs documentation and ensure compliance with international regulations.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve any operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Manage shipment costing, invoicing and file profitability.
• Work closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth transportation throughout the supply chain.
• Deliver an exceptional level of customer service while building long-term client relationships.

About You

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding, preferably within Export operations.
• Experience managing shipments from A-Z, including documentation and invoicing.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures and customs requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, solution-focused attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience using CargoWise One would be highly advantageous.
